WOMEN’S GOLF
The Huntington University women’s golf team finished sixth out of eight teams at the Crossroads League Preview, hosted at Harrison Lake Country Club in Columbus, Indiana.
The Foresters carded team rounds of 331-333-350 for a 54-hole total of 1,014 (+162) on the par-71, 5,868-yard course.
Freshman Magnolia Miller continued her impressive debut season, firing rounds of 83, 77, and 82 to finish at 242 (+29) and earn a top-20 individual showing. Grace Dill followed close behind with rounds of 79-85-90 for a 254 (+41), while Riley Kitson posted 84-82-89 to finish at 255 (+42). Madelyn Weaver added scores of 85-89-93 for 267 (+54), and Aniyah Copeland rounded out HU’s lineup with a 278 (+65) that included back-to-back 89s. Competing individually, Myleigh Moon turned in rounds of 92-93-94 for 279 (+66).
Indiana Wesleyan captured the team title at +61, followed by Marian (+86) and Taylor (+94) to round out the top three. Indiana East finished fourth at +130, Grace took fifth at +148, and Huntington (+162) placed sixth ahead of Mount Vernon Nazarene (+216) and Saint Francis (+308).
The Foresters will close out their fall season on October 20–21 at the Saints Classic, hosted at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.
