Faith in Action: Huntington OTD Students Serve in Baja California

Three Huntington University Arizona Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) students (Brandon Hoang, Ingrid Longoria, and Shakira Tarango) recently returned from a powerful service-learning mission trip to His Wings Ranch in rural Maneadero, Baja California, Mexico. Accompanied by full-time Arizona faculty member Heidi Carpenter, OTD, OTR/L, and newly appointed adjunct professor Cambria Hunter, OTR/L, MSGH, the group partnered in faith-based global mission work to support local communities through occupational therapy services and educational outreach. Cambria, whose deep calling lies in combining global health, OT, and faith into mission outreaches, brought invaluable insight and leadership to the team. This meaningful experience not only expanded students’ cultural competence but also deepened their understanding of service and faith in action.
