WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Huntington women’s soccer team secured another result in Crossroads League action by playing Mount Vernon to a 0-0 stalemate Wednesday night under the lights at CH4 Stadium. The tie moves the Foresters to 5-4-5 overall which includes a CL record of 0-3-3.

While the guests found themselves on defense much of the evening, the Cougars, despite pelting 25 shots, were never able to crack HU’s backline. At the other end of the pitch, Sophie Shepherd accounted for six of her team’s eight shots with three of her attempts on target.

Ireland Aerni stood tall in frame for Lewis’ crew by tracking down 12 saves. MVNU finished with six corner kicks to HU’s one.

The Foresters return to King Stadium on Saturday to host #RV Grace at 1:30 p.m. Prior to kick-off, HU will honor their seniors.
