WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

The Foresters volleyball team got off to a strong start in a matchup with #22 Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Platt Arena before being blanked 3 sets to zero. HU jumped out to an early 4-1 lead and gave the Cougars a battle in the opening set where neither team led by more than three points. The Foresters took a 21-19 advantage late before the Cougars pounced to snatch the opening set from HU.  
 
Mount Vernon (15-0) would maintain a lead throughout the remainder of the match to win the second set 25-19 and dominate the third set 25-8.  Trevyn Terry led the offensive attack with nine kills on just 13 attempts while also assisting on 4 blocks. Layla Meyer had 19 digs on the night while Lauren Ross had 13 digs.  
 
Huntington (9-5, 1-2) will look to regroup on Saturday when they host Taylor University at 3:00 p.m. in Platt Arena.
