The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named the All-Academic athletes and teams for 2023-2024 with Huntington well represented in both cross country and track and field.

On the women’s side, six Foresters were tabbed NAIA Academic All-Americans in cross country which included Deann Fry, Molly Harding, Alyeska Linsley, Anna Martin, Emily Tedder and Addy Wiley. Wiley was also designated the NAIA Women’s National Scholar Athlete of the Year.

The track and field season saw Trysta Hilton, Malarie Pinwar, Josey Reineman, Brooklyn Simmons, Emily Tedder and Erica Xayarath earn All-Academic praises for their success in the classroom.

As a team, Huntington claimed the title of an NAIA All-Academic Team in both cross country and track and field.

The HU men’s squad was also deemed an All-Academic Team in both programs. Isaac Combs, Austin Liepe, Tyler Loucks and Kent Yoder received All-Academic shoutouts at the conclusion of the cross country season while Liepe and Yoder along with Zach Collins were Academic All-American picks in track.

To be named an Academic All-American, athletes must carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25. Additionally, cross country athletes must have competed at nationals while track athletes had to achieve an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the indoor or outdoor season. Programs to earn a spot on the elite Academic Team list must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher which includes all student-athletes on the institution’s eligibility certificate.
