WOMEN’S GOLF

The HU women’s golf team played 36 holes Monday at the annual Taylor-hosted Ackerman-Allen Invitational where the finished second with a 47-over-par 623. After carding a 314 through the first 18 holes, Huntington shot five shots better in the second round with a 309.

Grace Dill enjoyed her first collegiate All-Tournament shoutout by finishing in a tie for second with an eight-over-par 152 (78-74). Abby Sheehan came in next for Davis’ crew with a 156 (72-84) for seventh place out of 29 golfers. Kira Moore (83-74–157) and Danielle Tinsley (81-77–158) shot within a stroke of each other to finish ninth and tenth respectively.

Riley Kitson turned in a 172 (88-84) for 18th place. Madelyn Weaver navigated the Purdue course in 184 shots (91-93) for 25th place while Akira Seals posted a 194 (100-94) for 28th place.

Taylor took home the team title with a 606 followed by HU (623), Bethel (633), Aquinas (685) and Mount Vernon (762).

The Foresters have a JV tournament scheduled for Saturday after which they will wrap up the year at the Crossroads League Championships on April 29-30 at Otter Creek in Columbus, Ind.
