Auditions for Spring Play “These Shining Lives”

Auditions for “These Shining Lives,” directed by Ryan Long, will be Monday, November 27 in MCA 160. Auditions are open to the general public. You can sign up for a time slot or look at audition requirements by clicking here. A copy of the script is available for review here: These Shining Lives – Melanie Marnich.

Synopsis: A play that chronicles the strength and determination of women considered expendable in their day, exploring their true story and its continued resonance. Catherine and her friends are dying, it’s true; but theirs is a story of survival in its most transcendent sense, as they refuse to allow the company that stole their health to kill their spirits — or endanger the lives of those who come after them. Based on the true story of four women who worked for the Radium Dial Company, a watch factory based in Ottawa, Illinois.

Rehearsal info: We are hoping to have a read-through and a few table work sessions before the end of the semester, because we will only have 4.5 weeks of rehearsal in spring semester. January/February rehearsals will be Monday-Friday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. or 7:00-10:00 p.m. Performance dates are February 15-17, 2024. Questions should be sent to rlong@huntington.edu.
