The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named the All-Academic Athletes for the 2023 NAIA Track & Field seasons with Huntington well-represented in both programs.
On the women’s side, freshman Addy Wiley was tabbed both the NAIA Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. She along with Destiny Copeland, Abbey Gentz, Emily Tedder and Erica Xayarath were deemed All-Academic Athletes. As an entire squad, the Foresters were also named an All-Academic Team for carrying a collective GPA of 3.41.
Three Foresters from the men’s program were honored as NAIA Academic All-Americans which included Zach Collins, Austin Liepe and Kent Yoder. As a program, the men’s team also earned the All-Academic Team distinction for a collective GPA of 3.26.
To be named to these prestigious lists, athletes must carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the indoor or outdoor season while the team honor requires a communal GPA of 3.0 or higher.
