MEN’S GOLF

The Forester men’s golf team wrapped up the year at Chariot Run Golf Course with a seventh place finish at the Crossroads League Championships earlier this week by firing a 976 with the second round of 323 their best team score of the two-day, three-round tourney.

Mitchell Wilson paced Dwyer’s crew with a 14th-place 235 after firing a team-low 75 in the first round. Colby Martin fired a 245 (84-80-81) for 27th place. Brenner Lampton carded an 87 each round to finish with a 261 for 39th place. Carter Roseboom played the first and third rounds to turn in a 158 (80-78) while Kaleb Ketchum rounded out HU’s scores with a two-round score of 165 (78-87).

“The guys fought really hard in tough conditions this week and I’m really proud to see the growth we had this year,” said Coach Connor Dwyer. “We had the opportunity to let a lot of the younger guys play this spring and they really developed well.

“I am excited for the next few years with this team and to see how far we can make it!”

Marian beat out Taylor by two strokes with a 908 to claim the conference title breaking the Trojans’ nine-year streak of CL championships. TU posted a 910 followed by Saint Francis (940), IWU (941), Spring Arbor (948), Bethel (969), HU (976), Grace (983) and Mount Vernon (990).
