MEN’S TRACK & FIELD

For the first time in his Forester career, sophomore Zach Collins was voted the Crossroads League Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Collins automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals in the 200 meters in 21.27 at the Kip Janvrin Open on Thursday. His time was good for fourth at the meet and is the second-fastest in Huntington program history.

He also competed at the Drake Relays where he provisionally qualified for the big stage in the 400 meters with a mark of 48.31. He finished third among a field of 18 sprinters which consisted mainly of DI and DII athletes.

Next up for Collins and crew is the Crossroads League Championships May 4-5 at Marian University.
