WOMEN’S GOLF

In their last regular season tournament of the year, the Huntington women’s golf team took fifth at Taylor’s Ackerman-Allen Shootout on Tuesday at Purdue’s Ackerman-Allen Golf Course by turning in a two-round score of 686.

Grace Dill paced Huntington with a 161 (81-80) for 16th place out of 40 golfers. Abby Sheehan turned in a 166 by firing an 83 each round. Danielle Tinsley was one-stroke back with a 167 (82-85). Rounding out HU’s scores was Akira Seals who carded a 192 (97-95).

“It was a marathon of a day,” said Coach Patrick Davis. “We golfed right until the sun went down. I am happy with how hard they fought, and they are starting to score well even when we are struggling with our swing.”

Bethel finished first with a 619 followed by IWU (624), Taylor (627), Spring Arbor (670), HU (686), Mount Vernon (691) and Saint Francis (696).

The last thing on HU’s schedule is the Crossroads League Championships on May 8-9 at Chariot Run.
