HU Herbarium Open House

On Friday, from 3:00-3:50 p.m., we are hosting an open house at the Fred Loew Herbarium. You may have never heard of HU’s herbarium before, but with over 12,000 plant specimens, ours is the largest herbarium held by any Christian college in the Midwest. Might be one of the best kept secrets on campus — you won’t want to miss it! We’ll have some refreshments, and you can examine plant specimens going back to the 1880s and learn about the process by which new specimens are collected, mounted, and entered into an herbarium.

The Herbarium is located in the lower level of the Science Hall, Room 056. Southwest corner of the building near the nursing student lounge area. Look for the signs!
