HU Esports NECC Playoffs Update

Last week both of our Huntington Esports squads started their postseason matches. The Overwatch team had a hard-fought series against Limestone Esports but ultimately fell 1-3. This season was single elimination for Overwatch 2, so the Foresters’ run came to an early end. The team advanced to a higher division (Emergents) from last year, and ended the regular season in 4th place with a 6-3 record.

The Smash Bros. squad also had a rough start to their playoff run, just barely losing their match to Mount Vernon Nazarene that went the full distance. Their playoff dreams have been kept alive in the lower bracket, where they had a convincing win over Murray State (Gold). The squad will continue their run on November 29!

Finally, in Smash Bros. singles, team captain Alex Anderson started out strong grabbing a dub 3-1 over Lambton College. He went on to lose against the tourney’s favorite in Northwood but will continue his run in the lower bracket next week as well.
