Thanksgiving Break – Hosts Needed!

During Thanksgiving Break, we have traditionally shut down campus, including the residence halls, mainly due to the closure of the dining halls. This closure often impacts our international students, who might not have alternative housing over the break. We have successfully found a solution to their accommodation and dining needs; however, many of our students still feel alone during the holiday.

Many of us have the blessing of celebrating a traditional Thanksgiving holiday and meal, which includes being with family, enjoying a homecooked meal, and generally feeling loved and cared for. We want our international students to be able to share in this type of experience, so we are looking for host families in our community and HU family. In addition, we have other students who may be unable to travel home for the break and are hoping to enjoy Thanksgiving with a local family. Would you or someone you know be willing to share your Thanksgiving with a student who does not have a family nearby? Providing hospitality is one way to share the love of Jesus Christ with our students far from home and their loved ones.

Please let me know if you would be willing to host students or are already scheduled to host students for Thanksgiving. Please fill out this form.

Thank you for your kind consideration!
