WOMEN’S GOLF

The Forester women’s golf team hosted the Crossroads League Fall Preview at Chariot Run Golf Club earlier this week where they finished fourth with a 677. Day two served Davis and crew well having bettered their first round scored of 346 by 15 strokes for a 331.

The match wraps up HU’s fall season.

Kira Moore topped Huntington with a 161 (78-83) for 15th place out of 46 golfers. Danielle Tinsley posted a 168 (89-79) to finish in 19th place. Abby Sheehan turned in a 171 (89-82) for 22nd place while Lauren Slottke was three strokes back at 174 (89-85) for the No. 24 spot.

Grace Dill carded a 177 (90-87) to claim 30th place. Lexy Turpchinoff (101-93) and Akira Seals (95-103) posted a 194 and 198 respectively to round out Huntington’s scores.

“We came into the tournament with multiple players playing with nagging injuries, so scoring was going to be tough for us,” noted Coach Patrick Davis. “I am happy we improved from day one to day two and each day we were led by two different players.

“That’s exciting for me because it shows we have multiple players who can score well on any given round.”

Indiana Wesleyan topped the leader board with a 609 followed by Taylor (620), Marian (629), HU (677), Spring Arbor (679), IU Kokomo (712), Saint Francis (715) and Mount Vernon (719).
