MEN’S TENNIS

The Huntington men’s tennis team remain on the prowl for a top spot in the league standings with a pair of wins over #3 Indiana Wesleyan and Saint Francis Tuesday at Sutter Tennis Center.

Against the host Wildcats, the Foresters gave up the point in doubles but then dominated singles action by winning five of the six matches to capture the 5-2 win. It’s one of the program’s biggest victory over a ranked opponents and snaps a 15-game win streak IWU held over HU.

Later in the day, Huntington breezed past Saint Francis for their fifth shutout of the season and their 13th consecutive win over the Cougars.

With these wins, HU improves to 7-1 on the season and in league play. Next up is a home match against Lawrence tech on Friday as part of the IWU Fall Classic.
