World Federation of Occupational Therapists Poster Presentation

Huntington University was represented at the World Federation of Occupational Therapists International Congress and Exhibition in Paris, France, August 28-31, 2022. The collaborative work of Dr. Andrew Rivera, assistant professor and doctoral capstone coordinator, and additional researchers from the AOTA Doctoral Capstone Coordinator – Academic Leadership Council (DCC-ALC) was displayed on the Development, Implementation and Evaluation of Entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctoral Capstones: International Implications from a National Survey (poster pdf – click here). The poster presentation is a direct tie to preexisting work published by Rivera and DCC-ALC researchers in the Journal of Occupational Therapy Education.

For students, the doctoral capstone provides an opportunity for in-depth professional practice within a given focus area and lays a foundation for advocacy and advancement of occupational therapy. If anyone is interested in collaborating with doctoral capstones, having students design projects, and engaging in experiential residencies twice annually, please feel free to reach out to Andrew Rivera at arivera@huntington.edu.

Doctoral Capstones focus on clinical practice, leadership, administration, research, advocacy, education, theory development, and/or program and policy development.
