Learning Together

OTD in Arizona was honored to host community partners for a collaborative learning experience! On July 14 HU Arizona hosted PIMA students in the occupational therapy assistant program to learn about dementia. We were blessed to have Jessica Majors of Oakwood Creative Care in Mesa facilitate Dementia Friends training, and each student left as a Certified Dementia Friend. The fun didn’t stop there! Hospice of the Valley sponsors “Dementia Moments,” a simulation experience to help community members and providers better understand a person’s perspective living with dementia. It was wonderful to share our space with such incredible members of our community!
