HU SET TO COMPETE AT NAIA NATIONALS
Twelve Foresters will represent Huntington University at the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships slated for May 25-27 at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Dylan Felger will look to defend his national title in the 400 meter hurdles. As the top-seed, he is favored to win again, having posted the nation’s fastest time of 51.05 at the Jesse Owens Track Classic last month.
Elijah Chesterman boasts one of the NAIA’s top times in the 1500 meters, where he’s seeded third, having clocked in at 3:49.89 at the Indiana Little State Championships. The pair, along with Aaron Hendryx and Reece Gibson, round out HU’s top-10 rankings on the big stage. The foursome is picked to finish sixth in the 4×800 meter relay.
Other Foresters to compete this week include Noah Bise in long jump (13th) and triple jump (19th), Zachary Collins in the 100 meters (36th) and 200 meters (29th), Kent Yoder in the 10,000 meters (19th), Shelby Christman in the 10,000 meters (27th), Abigail Mays in the 800 meters (17th), and Carmen Trier in the half marathon (25th).
