MEN’S GOLF
The HU men’s golf team had an impressive outing by finishing sixth out of 16 teams at Spring Arbor’s Garn Championship earlier this week at Keene Trace Golf Club. The two-day, three-round event saw the Foresters fire a 950 (315-321-314).
“The guys played well this week,” said Coach Connor Dwyer. “It was nice to see some of our hard work pay off with the finish we had. We still have some things we need to clear up but I’m proud of the way they are fighting.”
Quin Edwards paced the Foresters by finishing 12 th out of 84 golfers with a 234 (79-76-79). Chance Bressler turned in a 239 (77-81-81). Colby Martin posted a team-low 75 in the third round on his way to claiming a 240 (79-86-75) while Mitchell Wilson carded a 245 (84-82-79).
Other scores for HU included Peyton Richmond with a 249 (80-82-87) and David Beck with a 238 (84-77-77).
Midway shot a 39-over-par 903 to capture the title followed by IWU (927), Marian (934), Iowa Central (943), Aquinas (948), HU (950), IU Kokomo (951), Spring Arbor (951), Georgetown (957), Holy Cross (960), Muskegon (969), Saint Francis (977), Vincennes (989) and Indiana Tech (999).
Next up is the LTU Invite at TPC Deere Run on April 8-9.
