BOWLING

The HU bowling teams concluded their season at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. The format of the tournament was 64 Baker games over two days with the top four teams at each sectional site advanced to the championship tournament in April.

As part of the Addison (Ill.) sectional, the Huntington men bowled a score of 12,089 (188.89/game average) for 64 games which was good for a tenth place finish out of 22 teams. The HU women finished in 16th place out of 18 teams with a score of 11,348 (177.31/game average).

“We are proud of the constant work ethic and never quit attitude the guys have shown all year,” said Coach Mike Shockey. “The girls also fought hard and finished the last couple tournaments with a renewed team spirit and togetherness. The ladies have battled through several knee issues throughout the season and now have time to rehab and prepare for next season.

“We want to thank our seniors for their dedication and leadership to the team. They have set the bar high for the team in years to come. Thank you to Jessica Fraser, Austin Schultz, Dylan Herring, and Trevor Stichter.”
