HU Arizona Occupational Therapy Volunteers

The Doctoral Program in Occupational Therapy in Arizona would like to take a minute to share some of the awesome volunteer work our new students have done for a local organization that provides the homeless and disadvantaged the support, resources, and tools necessary for becoming employable. Here’s what St. Joseph the Worker had to say in a newsletter to their colleagues:

“St. Joseph the Worker’s Workforce Villages Program loves when volunteers come to help. Today we were honored to have Occupational Therapy students from Huntington University assist us in putting together furniture at one of our new Villages locations in the Sunnyslope area.

“The students were excited to learn about our program and the impact their help would make. They were able to get most of the furniture put together in the time allotted. We only have a few pieces left to assemble and are getting closer to opening a new location of the Workforce Villages.

“In addition to assembling furniture today we were able to open doors to a partnership with the Huntington University Occupational Therapy program regarding better serving our clients and meeting them where they [are] at while giving the students hours towards completing their program.

“The Workforce Villages team is excited to see where this newly formed partnership may lead.”
