CROSS COUNTRY

Huntington junior Haile Stutzman topped the field of 130 runners at Saturday’s Crossroads League Cross Country Championships to be deemed the league’s individual champion. He ran away from his competition by clocking in at 24:52 which proved eight seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

For the Silverton (Ore.) native, it was the second CL individual title of his Forester career having claimed the crown as a rookie. This week’s Runner of the Week badge is Stutzman’s third of the fall.

Stutzman led the 10th-ranked Foresters to a third place finish over the weekend and now he and his teammates lie in wait to receive an at-large bid to NAIA Nationals slated for November 19 in Vancouver, Wash.
