(Co-hosted with the Center for Non-Western Studies)
A Biblical Theology of Ethnicity, Nationality, and Race
Dr. Steve Bryan
Professor of New Testament
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (2016-present)
Prior to 2016, Dr. Bryan served as a missionary in Ethiopia for more than 23 years. He taught for many years at the Evangelical Theological College in Addis Ababa and also served as the first Dean of Studies of the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology for six years. From 2009–2015, he was the director of SIM Ethiopia, leading the work of over 500 ministry and support personnel from Europe, Australasia, North America, S. Africa and Ethiopia in a variety of church-planting, discipleship, leadership development, and compassion ministries. He completed his PhD in historical Jesus studies at Cambridge University. His current research interests include the Gospel of John, Jesus and the Law, and cultural identity.
Dr. Bryan will be on our campus at least on Tuesday, October 26, but possibly late Monday and early Wednesday as well. If you would like to request that he visit a Tuesday class related to his expertise, please email kdrury@huntington.edu, and we will ask if he can accommodate that interest. Similarly, reach out if you have a group of students interested in missions and church-planting and you would like to host a meal with your students and Dr. Bryan. Forester Lecture funds may be able to cover the cost.
