Employee Handbook Primer – Absences
Leave time is a benefit provided to employees of the University. The Employee Handbook details leave information in section 3.0. Employees are responsible for requesting and reporting paid vacation, paid time off, and sick leave through the payroll portal (ADP) in a timely manner.
Employees seeking to use paid sick leave in excess of three consecutive work days must provide the Office of Human Resources (HR) a written physician’s statement upon returning to work. When HR becomes aware of the extended absence, they will send the required Family Medical Leave paperwork to the employee. Notifying HR as soon as possible will improve the communication process.
