Employee Handbook Primer

Do you know what the Employee Handbook says?

Why does the University provide an Employee Handbook and expect employees to read and access that handbook? The handbook has been designed to help employees know Huntington University better. In addition, the University has a responsibility to keep employees accurately informed of University policies. The handbook is a summary of the principles for which the University stands, the benefits to which employees may be eligible, and the obligations an individual assumes as an employee.

When hired, all employees are asked to read and attest to the fact that they have read the Employee Handbook for Huntington University. When an update is made to the Employee Handbook, it is distributed to all employees and they are asked to read and affirm that they have read the updated handbook. Employees may also access the handbook at any time on the HU Portal: Login to the Portal (https://my.huntington.edu/ICS/) and then select the Personnel tab. The Employee Handbook is found under Forms and Documents.

The policies in this handbook are set forth simply to let employees know what to expect from the University and what will be expected of them. Use your Employee Handbook as a resource to guide you through any employment policy questions you may have. Of course, our human resources team is always ready to assist you as well.

We deeply appreciate the contribution that our employees are making to the continued successful operation of the University. Be blessed and keep up the good work.
