OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The HU track & field program snagged three of the four Crossroads League weekly track & field honors as announced by the league office earlier today.

For the second time this season, sophomore Emma Wilson and senior Adrien Gentie swept the Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Wilson earned her fourth weekly track badge of the season by dominating the 1500 meters at the HU Invitational over the weekend. The Greencastle native’s winning time of 4:24.66 is the best in the NAIA this season, automatically qualified her for NAIA Nationals and broke the school record.

Gentie ran at the Strive for Greatness Invitational on Friday where he also dominated his race. He clocked in at 14:27.95, 11 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, in the 5000 meters to not only break the school record and hit the “A” standard but establish the fastest 5K time in the NAIA. It’s the Frenchman’s second weekly track accolade this year.

Junior Noah Bise also picked up his second CL hardware of the season as the Field Athlete of the Week by winning long jump and triple jump on Saturday at HU’s own meet. He bested long jump with a leap of 7.11 meters and then followed up that performance with a mark of 13.81 meters in triple jump to collect his second win of the afternoon.

The Foresters are back in action on Friday to compete at the Lancer Invitational.
