Goodbye to Bryan Ballinger and Welcome to Curtis Wood
Sixteen years after helping to start the animation program, Professor Bryan Ballinger has decided to resign from Huntington University so that he can focus on other creative pursuits. Bryan will still be teaching regularly as an adjunct professor for the animation program, so you may still see him around. Bryan is extremely grateful for his time at HU and all the great people he has worked with. He will be greatly missed! You can keep up with Bryan and his artistic endeavors at breadwig.com.
Curtis Wood (HU Class of 2011) began his teaching career at HU in 2015 as an adjunct instructor teaching a few courses in the animation program. Shortly after, he knew this was God’s calling as he realized how much he loved teaching and his team. He is very excited to take the next step forward and join us this fall as a full-time instructor in animation. His passion has always been rooted in drawing since he was very young, and he is perpetually inspired by the creation that surrounds us. He also brings years of experience as a professional animation freelancer as co-founder of the local animation collaborative, Syndeo Studios. Since 2012 he has worked for companies across the nation such as Marriott, Pfizer, Micropulse, Reusser Design, Separators INC, Joseph Decuis, BOLT, FEC, Tree of Life, and many others. As an artist specializing in drawing, illustration, motion graphics, and 3D art, he will continue to teach a variety of traditional, 2D and 3D animation courses with the intent to inspire young artists and help the department continue to grow.
