WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Huntington University senior Sam Vaughn saved her best for last and has the hardware to prove it with the recent announcement of her inclusion on the NAIA Honorable Mention All-America Team.

The designation caps off an incredible final campaign for Vaughn who led the Foresters in scoring (15.5), rebounding (8.2), assists (4.0) and steals (3.1). Just as impressive is that among her league peers, she finished in the top five in all four categories which includes topping the Crossroads League in steals and offensive rebounds (3.9).

Vaughn’s resume also includes earning one of the eight spots on the Crossroads League First Team this year. She was honored by the league each season having been named to the All-Freshmen Team as a rookie and then being voted Honorable Mention and Third Team as a sophomore and junior respectively.

The 5-7 guard wraps up her career with 1,153 points in 107 games for a four-year average of 10.8 points per outing which places her 20th on HU’s all-time scoring list. The Anderson native also collected 623 rebounds, 291 of which were offensive, 411 assists and 252 steals during her time as a Forester.
