MEN’S TENNIS

The Forester men’s tennis team picked up its second win of the spring by slipping past Lawrence Tech, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at the Franklin Athletic Club.

The Blue Devils (2-6) swept doubles to earn the day’s first point, but it was a dog fight after that. With one singles match to go, the score was knotted up at 3-3 to make for a dramatic finish.

It came down to #4 singles where Diego Tapia, after dropping the first set, stormed back to cruise to a 6-1 second set  before outlasting Alex Rajal, 12-10, in the third set tiebreak to clinch not only his own win, but the team’s as well.

With this W, HU moves to 8-4 on the year. Ignacio’s squad is back in action on March 27 to face IU East.
