Information Security Month – TechTalk

IT Services will be providing TechTalk sessions available to all employees during the month of October. These sessions will be held on Fridays at 4:00 p.m. ET beginning Friday, October 9, through Friday, October 30. Below is a list of the topics that will be covered.

• Friday, October 9 – Cybersecurity at Work and while Traveling 
  • We will be talking about some best practices for keeping safe both on campus and while traveling.
• Friday, October 16 – Passwords and Multi-Factor Authentication
  • Discussion about some tips for making passwords that are both memorable and secure, and why multi-factor authentication helps secure your accounts.
• Friday, October 23 – Phishing, Identity Theft, and Internet Scams
  • Our session this week focuses on the human side of the equation as we talk about phishing, identity theft, and other Internet scams.
• Friday, October 30 – Social Media and Internet Use
  • This week we’ll have a chat about how to best keep safe on social media and other Internet sites.
