Auditions for “Fuente Ovejuna” and Troupe
WHEN: Thurs. Sept. 3
WHERE: Studio Theatre
WHO: All HU students, faculty, and staff
HOW: Sign up for an audition slot online at bit.ly/3gAGcOS
Auditioners for Fuente Ovejuna are asked to prepare a short monologue (1-2 minutes) from any “classical” piece — it can be true classics (Elizabethan, Golden Age) or anything pre-Shaw/Ibsen (1860s). Memorization is encouraged but not required; we would rather you focus on developing strong character choices than being word perfect. Performances are November 13-14.
Auditioners for Troupe are asked to prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song from any era. You must bring sheet music for the accompanist (no taped accompaniment or a capella singing) that is appropriately marked with where you want the accompanist to begin and end. There will be a dance call at 6:30, so please bring appropriate clothing to change into after auditions. Performance will be filmed on October 2.
