Immerse From Home
Do you find yourself missing connection with community? Perhaps you’re wanting to take advantage of the newfound time on your hands, in a meaningful way, but don’t know where to start?
Huntington University is delighted to announce “Immerse From Home,” a two week book club that will walk through the books of Luke and Acts. We recognize that it’s easy to fall into a pattern of reading scripture only for professional reasons, classes, or on Sunday mornings, but the Word is intended to be a part of our personal, daily lives.
When Jesus faced challenges, His response to trial was the Word of God. In the same way, we, too, must be knowledgeable of Scripture in order to respond to trials. By connecting with God, we are better able to connect with others. This is why we wanted to make a community book club rather than a personal devotional. While we must be apart in these unprecedented times, we can find hope and instruction together, as a family, in God’s Word.
Students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate in this book club led by Rev. Arthur Wilson, Dean of Spiritual Life. Daily reading will be provided for individuals, and group discussions will take place on Friday, May 1 and 8. In order to accommodate schedules, two sessions will be held via Zoom on each of the Fridays, one at 11:00 a.m. and one at 3:00 p.m. (EDT).
If you are interested, please contact Rachel Hart (rhart@huntington.edu) by Friday, April 24 for further details and reading materials.
