Mission Moment

On January 22, our faculty and staff joined together for a convocation as we prepared to fully turn our attention to the spring semester. Edmund O’Neal, our featured speaker, made a comment that struck a chord with me when it comes to our mission at Huntington University. Edmund used the word “uncommon” when referring to our University’s commitment and willingness to come together in prayer, praise, worship, and communion. Matthew 18:20 also reminds us, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” There is absolutely something uniquely different about Huntington University that has kept our focus squarely on Christ, despite what the rest of the world may expect. Despite society’s push to have everything “your way,” HU continues to seek God’s will and way in all that we do. It was encouraging to have a visitor with a fresh and unique perspective on our campus acknowledge that we are staying true to our mission of Christ, Scholarship, and Service.
