BOWLING

Back in action for the first time in 2020, the HU bowling teams competed in the Buckeye Baker Classic over the weekend, where the men took 6th and the women finished 13th. The tournament format featured 36 baker games with the top eight teams making it to match play for the championship.

“It was a rough weekend for the women as they struggled to get any momentum going,” said Coach Mike Shockey. “Between poor shot making and missed spares, the ladies missed the cut to match play.”

The Huntington women finished with a total of 5,814 pins for a 36-game average of 161.5 per game.

The Forester men experienced success over the weekend by scoring 6,550 pins for a 181.9 per game average over the course of baker play. It landed them the No. 6 spot in the standings and sent them to match play where they lost in the first round to Lourdes University 190-183 and 223-174.

Shockey and crew are back at it this weekend to compete in the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic on January 18-19.
