MEN’S SOCCER

HU senior Luke Unger and junior Jake Erlandson guided the #RV Forester men’s soccer team to a repeat Crossroads League Tournament Championship over the weekend to sweep this week’s soccer awards.

For Unger, it’s his first Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week badge. The 6-1 midfielder scored the game’s only goal of the title match to give his team the 1-0 win over top-seeded Spring Arbor. Saturday’s game-winner was his eighth goal of the year, the 15th of his career.

After being tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week last month, Erlandson adds a Defensive Player of the Week accolade to his resume for his dominate performance on Saturday. Erlandson and his backline were in clamp-down mode to keep Spring Arbor out of the net. It was the first time all season the Cougars have been shutout.
