Ninjas on Fire

Remember about a month ago when we announced that the ninja team was launching a comprehensive schedule for departmental updates for brochures, websites, and snapshots? Well, that is officially in motion. We have had the privilege to meet with about five departments so far with positive results. Don’t sweat it if you haven’t had a meeting with us yet; likely it means that we haven’t reached the month for your updates yet. But stay tuned for an email from Nicole to schedule your meeting.

In the midst of the departmental updates and upgrades, we are also:
* Working with admissions to continue the creation and mailing of messaging and postcards
* Working with the advancement team to finalize the next Forester Fund mailing
* Completing the advancement team’s Thanksgiving letter
* Preparing the Day of Giving toolkit and marketing strategy
* Continuing the wrap-up process for the Step Forward launch
* Gearing up for the next steps following that launch
* Putting together the next issue of the HU Magazine
* Designing the presidential Christmas card (yes, already!)
* And much more!

But wait, there’s more!

As you have hopefully heard by now, we have a marketing and communication messaging calendar for the University that we adhere to throughout the year. This guides our messaging on everything from billboards to postcards to fliers to social. The November theme is “giving thanks and generosity.” Additionally, we are focusing on community relationships and the significance of faithful partnerships. You might think, “great, why do I care about messaging,” and the answer would be because the more common language and messaging that comes from an organization, the stronger its brand. University Relations can’t be the only department speaking Forester language; we all need to be pulling in the same direction. Want more hands-on details about what this means for you, let me know and we can talk.

Curious how things are going on the press side? Glad you asked. We had great media coverage for the Step Forward launch with newspaper and tv news coverage, partnered with an ad blitz. Additionally, the recent Forester Lecture prompted another wave of coverage.

Need University Relations’ help with something? No problem! Just remember that there is a new way to submit marketing, public relations, and communication requests. Instead of email and HelpDesk, we now ask you to use www.huntington.edu/AskUniversityRelations.
