WOMEN’S TENNIS

Senior Meg Dolde and sophomore Morgan Fitzpatrick made program history over the weekend as the first HU women’s tennis duo to compete in the ITA Cup. The pair represented the Midwest at the national event as the 2019 ITA Regional Championship doubles runners-up.

Opening day saw the Foresters suffer a 6-0, 6-1 loss to the nation’s best in the Georgia Gwinnet twosome of Madeline Bosnjak and Maria Genovese which sent them into the consolation bracket. On Friday, Dolde and Fitzpatrick were back in action to suffer a tough tiebreaker loss, 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (7) to Erica Paradise and Brittany Zipf of McPherson College after which they dropped a 7-6(5), 6-2 decision to Lucia Mora and Alexandra Parra of Lindsey Wilson.

As a team, Ferguson’s crew wrapped the fall portion of their schedule with an overall record 9-7.
