MEN’S SOCCER

Huntington University junior Jake Erlandson helped guide the Foresters to a pair of league wins last week and for his efforts was named the Crossroads League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as announced earlier this afternoon.

In addition to anchoring a backline that has given up just 11 goals through 13 games this fall, the 6-1 defender is also Coach Lawson’s leading scorer. Of his seven goals this season, six have been game-winners which lands him the top spot nationally for game-winning goals.

Erlandson picked up two of those goals last week. Against Marian on Wednesday, he found back netting just 19 minutes in for what proved the game’s only goal. On Saturday, he buried a penalty kick in OT at Bethel to send HU home with a 2-1 victory.

The Foresters are 9-2-2 overall, 3-0-1 in league play. HU is back at it on Wednesday when they host Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m.
