WOMEN’S TENNIS

– Despite playing without their #1, Meg Dolde, the HU women’s tennis team made quick work of Mount Vernon by sweeping the visiting Cougars 7-0 Tuesday afternoon at Klopfenstein Courts.

Molly Burton and Makenzie Logan outlasted Ashley Weber and Hailey Clayborn in No. 3 doubles, 7-6 (7-5), for the closest match of the day as Huntington improves to 4-3 overall, 3-2 in league play. The Cougars’ record stands at 1-4 overall, and the same record in CL action, with their win a 7-0 sweep over Goshen.

“Our #1 player, Meg Dolde, was unavailable for the match so everyone had to play up a spot in the line-up,” said Coach Ferguson. “Everyone handled the added pressure well and performed as expected.”

Next up is another home match on Thursday against IU Kokomo at 4:00 p.m.
