CROSS COUNTRY
For the second straight week, Huntington University juniors Adrien Gentie and Hannah Stoffel were named the Crossroads League Men’s and Women’s Runners of the Week respectively as announced by the national office earlier today.
Gentie was the overall champion of the IWU Twilight Invitational Friday night to lead the Foresters to the meet title out of 15 schools. The Frenchman set a new PR by clocking in at 24:39.7 for a 4:57.7 per mile pace. He was over twenty seconds faster than his nearest competitor.
On the women’s side, Stoffel was the Twilight Invitational’s overall champion. Her time of 17:19.9 not only set a new course and meet record but also proved a new HU record as well. She averaged a 5:34.7 mile and blew away her competition by finishing 40 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Next up for Huntington is the Rumble in the Fort on Friday afternoon.
