WOMEN’S TENNIS

The Huntington women’s tennis team suffered its second league loss of the year with a 5-2 decision to Grace Wednesday afternoon at the Miller Field Tennis Courts. The loss drops HU to 2-2 overall, 1-2 in CL action.

The Foresters have enjoyed the upperhand over the Lancers as of late as GC’s win over HU is the first since September of 2013 when they handed Huntington a 5-4 loss.

Meg Dolde and Morgan Fitzpatrick edged past Emily Mast and Dayana Ortega in a hard fought 7-6 (7-3) decision at the top spot in doubles. Charlotte Solli picked up a win at No. 2 singles, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, over Carrie Copeland while Molly Burton was HU’s other win at No. 6 singles where she disposed of Shelby Bankson 6-2, 6-1.

HU is back at it on Saturday when they host Saint Francis at 10:00 a.m. and then turn around to host Indiana Tech at 4:00 p.m.
