WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its annual Top 25 Team Honor Roll and for the 15th time since the program’s inception in 1997, HU was among the list of honorees.

The Foresters finished the year with a team GPA of 3.699 to finish fourth among its NAIA peers for the second consecutive year. Three of the top four spots are held by Indiana schools with Indiana Tech topping the list with a team GPA of 3.817 while Taylor slipped in at third with a 3.705 GPA.

“This is just another tremendous example of how this group uses their God-given talents and abilities,” said HU head coach Lori Culler. “Whether they’re on the basketball court, in the classroom or in the community, these ladies find a way to make a positive impact. I couldn’t be more proud of their efforts.”

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA; and junior/community college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point average (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2018-19 season is the 24th in which the WBCA has compiled these honor rolls.
