#Foresters2019

In the fall of 2015, our soon-to-be graduates arrived on campus fresh-faced and bright-eyed, ready to learn and absorb all that Huntington University had to offer. In 24 days, they will walk across the stage in the Fieldhouse and receive the college diploma that will officially and forever make them a part of the Forester Nation.

University Relations doesn’t really have direct contact with these students as a class, at least not like the folks in Admissions and Financial Aid do. As a University Relations team, we mold the conversations that draw them to our campus, we craft the images that spark their interest, we design the materials that they can’t put down, we position HU to rise to the forefront of their minds, and we build a story that they aspire to be a part of.

But there is one day, one key day, that we walk hand in hand with the entire class and, with one voice, shout their story of triumph from the top of the Becker Hall bell tower; that day is commencement day.

For the past few months, we have been slowly building that story. We have been subtly crafting stories that weave in the Class of 2019, that share the success of the seniors, and that will soon act as a springboard for May when we celebrate #Foresters2019. You’ll see these stories on Instagram, Facebook, and the website. We invite you to share them!

Faculty, you know these students well; we invite you to, by name, congratulate them on social media. Tell them you are proud of them. Tell them they were a joy to have in class. Tell them their sass and tenacity will take them to new heights. Tell them to “stay classy!”…tell them something!

Staff, you know these students, too; we invite you to, by name, support them on social media. Tell them how they made your office a better place. Tell them you know that their work ethic will take them far. Tell them that you’ll miss them…tell them something!

You’ve heard me say this on behalf of University Relations before and you’ll hear it again and again – we can’t tell the Forester Story without you. We need your help. In recent years, we’ve averaged around 13,000 social media impressions annually on our commencement stories; this year, we want more! If you want Huntington University to succeed, speak up! Share stories! Tag people! Post things!

If you don’t know how you can do this, just ask. University Relations is happy to help!
