WOMEN’S TENNIS

FRIDAY
Today’s match was part of the IWU Tennis Invitational that will take place throughout weekend featuring 24 total matches at six sites. Those sites include Huntington, IWU, Taylor, Marian, Marion High School and Mississinewa High School.

The field includes 30 men’s and women’s teams from 16 schools representing eight different conferences and seven states including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Ferguson’s crew is back in action tomorrow to play Georgetown and IU Southeast at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.

SATURDAY
The HU women’s tennis team claimed its second straight win Saturday afternoon at Klopfenstein Courts with a 5-2 decision over IU Southeast (7-9) on day two of the IWU Invitational.

The Foresters earned two wins in doubles action before the top three spots claimed straight set wins in singles play to accrue five points for the win.

With this win, Ferguson’s crew is 12-5 on the year which includes posting three wins against one loss this spring.
