Mays to Lead MPAS in 2020

Huntington University is pleased to announce its intention to add a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree to its master’s degree program offerings in 2020 with David Mays Jr, PA-C, at the helm. Mays joined Huntington University in March of 2019 as the MPAS program director. He will help the university prepare for the program launch as well as assume an administrative and teaching role once the program enrolls its first cohort.

“We are happy to have David Mays join HU as our founding program director,” said Dr. Ann McPherren, assistant to the president for program development. “His clinical practice excellence, vision and energy are having an immediate impact on the development of the program and accreditation preparation.”

A graduate of Indiana University and Arcadia University, Mays has a strong background in work as a physician assistant. Most recently, he has served as a physician assistant for Parkview Physician Group Family Medicine. He also has experience as an x-ray technician, cast technician and as a radiologic technologies assistant.

“It is a unique environment at Huntington University to be able to instill Christ-like works in the field of medicine,” said Mays. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to be able to help shape the future of my profession and graduate compassionate physician assistants that will impact their communities.”
