The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2018-19 Daktronics-NAIA Basketball Scholar-Athletes and among the list are eight Forester student-athletes.

On the men’s side, senior Luke Reust, junior Konner Platt and junior Andrew Yoder were among the 179 men’s basketball players to be honored by the NAIA for their success in the classroom.

For the HU women, five Foresters, seniors Casey Morton and Maddie Richer along with juniors Sarah Fryman, Cindy In’t Groen and Erin Mohr, earned this badge for their academic excellence. They were among 312 women’s basketball players to be named to the list.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
