The Northeast Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame (NEIBA) Board of Directors announced that Forester baseball coach Mike Frame is among the list of honorees to be inducted this spring.

Since 1961, the NEIBA has honored local baseball players, personnel and ambassadors through a Hall of Fame and honors program. Other Forester greats who have been inducted include Doug Neuenschwander, Mark Parker, Bill Derbyshire, Gerry Tilker and Gary Rodgers.

Frame, a 35-year veteran at Huntington, enters the 2019 season as the 12th most winningest coach among all active NAIA baseball coaches.

Under his tutelage, the Foresters have compiled an 829-692 record for a 54.5 winning percentage. His teams have won an average of 24 games per season during his 34 years. They have also captured a conference regular season title or conference tournament title 16 times which includes winning four of the last 11 conference tournament championships.

Frame’s resume also includes three NAIA National Tournament appearances. Twelve times his players have earned NAIA All-American honors, and on 73 occasions players have received All-Conference honors. He has had six players go on to play professionally.

The veteran skipper has been honored as the conference Coach of the Year six times and been named NAIA District and Area Coach of the Year once. He was named NCCAA District Coach of the Year in 1988. He has been involved in baseball instruction in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and British Columbia. He has also instructed at the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association’s state clinic twice.

In November of 2003, Coach Frame, a 1983 graduate of Huntington, was inducted into the Huntington University Athletic Hall of Fame. Frame is also a member of the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame as of 2009 and was recently inducted into the Nettle Creek Schools Athletic Hall of Fame.

Frame will be honored at the 2019 Northeast Indiana Hall of Fame banquet on May 19.
