A partial Forester track and field squad wrapped up their indoor season by spending Saturday at Ohio Northern competing in the Polar Bear Final Qualifier. It was a non-scored meet held at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.

On the women’s side, Tayia Meadows won the 200 meters in 29.36 while teammate Amarachi Charles-Okezie took third in 32.21. Mara McFarland clocked in at 1:05.28 to finish third in the 400 meters. Erin Manchess (6:12.00) and Jordan Adams (6:20.43) claimed second and third in the mile by respectively. Madison Hoover rounded out HU’s top five finishes by posting fourth in long jump with a leap of 4.27 meters.

Andrew Zachary highlighted the Huntington men by winning the 200 meters in 23.03 and finishing fifth in the 60 meters in 7.25. Peyton Depriest clocked in at 23.09 to finish second in the 200 meters behind Zachary. Josiah Sovine ran to a fifth place finish in the 800 meters by turning in a 2:01.60.

Cameron Worsham took fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.77. In his first meet of the season, James Gardner competed unattached in long jump where he claimed fourth with a mark of 6.16 meters. In relay action, the Foresters finished second in the 4×400 meter relay (3:46.02) and first in the distance medley relay (12:39.95).

Huntington opens up its outdoor season with the Centre Invitational on March 30.
