WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
For the first time in her Forester career, junior Sarah Fryman earned the Crossroads League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors as announced earlier today.
Fryman led HU to a pair of wins last week by averaging 26.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. In the Foresters’ 66-57 W over Goshen, the 5-9 forward poured in a career-best 30 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists. She then turned in a 22-point performance on Saturday to pace her team to a 67-59 upset over 16th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan.
The Huntington native currently holds three national rankings highlighted by claiming the #7 spot in free throw percentage (.884). She also ranks 24th in total scoring (321) and 33rd in scoring (16.9).
The Foresters are 12-7 on the year, 5-3 in league play for a share of the 4th spot in the CL standings. Culler and crew travel to Marian on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off with the 8th-ranked Knights.
